IE doesn't support APNG but it was incorrect to explicityly state that the PNG format has no animation support. The only support lacking is with the notoriously backward IE.

The PNG can be animated. I believe Flash and Photoshop support saving animations in the PNG format. The extension is know as APNG but the file format is still PNG. FireFox 3 supports Animated PNGs (view: http://people.mozilla.com/~dolske/apng/demo.html)

Thanks for the info. Please make corrections.
